The kernel

SkinnyPop is the bag that taught a decade of shoppers that popcorn could be the "good" snack. Sunflower oil, salt, a calorie callout, a white bag. Hershey owns it now. That is not a moral event. It is a distribution fact. You can buy this in more places than you can buy a jar of Iowa heirloom, and that is why it belongs in the Atlas.

The pot

The flake is airy. The salt is even. The crunch is real for about the first two-thirds of the bag, then the small pieces settle into a salty dust that people eat anyway. There is not much corn flavor left once the oil and salt do their work. That is the trade. You get a very light eat and a very wide retail footprint. Microwave SKUs exist if you want the same idea hot.

Hulls

An airy butterfly flake on ordinary hulls. The bag does nothing special about them and does not claim to. If hulls bother you, SkinnyPop is not the fix.

Who it is for

The person who wants popcorn without a project. Also the person who will only eat the snack if the label looks restrained. We will not mock that. We will also not pretend this is a farm visit. If hulls bother you, SkinnyPop is not the fix. Tiny But Mighty is the fix. If you need a bag at a Target run, this one will do the job.
