What holds

  • Amazon gourmet/kettle search shows the name
  • A real Chicago founding

What doesn't

  • The jar is the thesis
  • Not a farm variety

The kernel

Kernel Season's is a shaker brand. Sporked's seasoning test put ranch, cheddar, and the rest of the line next to Orville's own powders. It is not popcorn. It is how a lot of kitchens finish a pot.

The pot

Brian Taylor started Chicago Custom Foods in 2000. Sauer Brands bought it in May 2020. The jar is the thesis. Corn is a vehicle.

Hulls

There is no hull on a powder. Use it on a flake you already popped. Oil is still the glue; the shaker does not invent tack.

Company

Seasoning first. Corn is a vehicle. The jar is the thesis.

How we score

Directory listing. Unscored until Barron tastes it. Other testers' rankings are cited, not copied. Tiny But Mighty stays #01. Farm varieties outrank flavor labs. Read the method in the how we score guide and on the about page.

The record

Unscored. kernelseasons.com. Grocery popcorn aisle.

Directory listing. Powder, not a kernel. On the map because the aisle treats it as popcorn hardware.
