Cheerie Lane is heirloom corn from a fifth-generation farm between State Center and Melbourne, Iowa, formed into cacao-butter pods you pop on a stove or in a microwave. Cousins Kate Greer and Brad Schulte run it. The Times-Republican (2 Mar 2025) has Schulte on the farm and Greer running a five-person kitchen in Berkeley, with a hoped-for Iowa move.

The pot

The pot is the point of the pod. You watch the cacao butter melt, then the corn jump. Flavors on that Iowa piece: butter, rosemary garlic, jalapeño, salt and pepper. Allrecipes' 2026 microwave SERP ranked the pods third, under Kirkland and Hannaford.
